Grappling – Love Aware 30

May 5, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

Woman Strained Face
What can I learn from this?
How does it apply?
Trying to seek first, your Kingdom,
Yet also, wondering why.

In going through this challenge,
Give me pause to reflect on your Word,
or bring me back to a sermon,
from a preacher I once heard.

Show me the way, Dear God
Spirit, please guide on what to do.
Prove me beyond this struggle,
Strengthen me towards a breakthrough.

My desire is to please you, Lord,
So I cast away doubt or fear,
Looking for a glorious testimony of your goodness,
And how you are always right here.

Though I want this grappling to cease,
From this battle, to be set free.
I want to serve your purpose and goodness,
Thank Jesus, for saving a wretch like me.

Listening: A Sign of Love – #LingerLonger

May 4, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

listening eyes

Listening is a sign of love. It’s a way to Linger Longer, to enjoy life – your life and the life around you.

Full-face, patient, heart-felt listening takes on many shapes and forms. Your eyes can show the care in your listening. Your eyebrows can communicate without interrupting. Your jaws, mouth, and lips can show empathy.

In a similar manner, by listening with senses other than your ears alone, you can hear the cry of a stranger just by watching their conversation with the world around them.

In an attempt to Linger Longer, build up your listening muscles to show love.

Are You There, Lord? – Love Aware 29

May 4, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

dark clouds

I wait patiently for your answer,
to guide me and set me straight.
I wait in service during your silence,
so the time passes quick.

Are you there, Lord?
Is your silence also your answer?
I check my gut, calm my thoughts,
In prayer, I meditate on your Word.

Is it my request that needs a tweak?
Is my impatience causing a delay?
In the meantime I will serve, you God,
To please you not for earnings.

You are the Most High and giving God,
In my deepest and horrible times of trial,
You have rescued me, forgiven me, and set me right
With unfathomable love, you have blessed me abundant.

With trust and faith, I await your instruction.
With love and honor, I try to serve you well.
Forgive my hurry, it’s anticipation.
To see and testify of your wonder and glory.

Thank you, Lord, for always being here.
It is all I can truly count on.
For at the end of each path I can see,
Your hand, and how you’ve guided me safely.

I wait with much patience, Lord
To hear your voice and read your Word,
Continuing in service with joy,
Your blessings and love comfort me always.

Good Morning – Love Aware Day 28

Good morning, Heavenly Father,
Thank you for giving me rest.
Your witnesses are singing,
Wind in the trees; Birds in their nest.

Good morning, Jesus my Savior,
Thank you for protecting my sleep.
Shine bright within and from out of me,
So Your light might attract lost sheep.

Good morning, Holy Spirit,
Thank you for guiding my day.
As I intersect and interact with others,
Give me loving wisdom in what to say.

Good morning heavenly hosts,
servants of God, warriors of prayer,
Thank you for your surrender,
Of your consecrated work, I am aware.

Good morning, Holy Bible,
Thank you for your Word so alive!
Teach me things new and old,
In your precepts, I will abide.

God Designs – Love Aware 27

Landscape by God Designs

God Designs –

Who can paint the sky?
Who can chisel the stone?
Who can form the clouds?
Only you, God, you alone.

You design life abundant,
Animals, plants, and birds,
Creating a life and healing process,
Guiding me by your living Word.

Amazing colors, miraculous work
I rejoice and marvel looking about to see.
Your majestic work around me,
Serves as an ongoing testimony.

Then to think outside of this earth,
to the working universe beyond.
And even more, an everlasting life.
With Jesus’ blood creating our bond.

All by your design and power,
Almighty God, for the rest of my days,
I am grateful, thankful, forever yours
To serve, worship, and praise always.

Roses From Jesus – Love Aware 26

Roses From Jesus

In the big things,
I cry out loud.
In the big things,
Able to recognize your hand.

I witness your wondrous work,
Upon mountains sitting high.
At times I miss the pebbles in valleys,
Yet, your miracles in those also apply.

In the little things,
Your loving care does show.
In the little things,
From your creative heart, all things grow.

My heart is grateful for simple and small,
Things that can seem everyday mundane.
Then I remember how it is written,
You know my every hair and have recorded my name.

You direct my paths,
protect my day-to-day,
Watch me cross the street,
lead when to go, guide me when to stay.

I’m thankful for the little things,
Some may say these gifts each and all:
Roses From Jesus, trinket-sized gifts
From you are all big, even if they’re small.

Lacking Liking No More – Love Aware 25

April 30, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

boy reaching up

For a long time,
I wanted to be liked,
At times simply
Not to be unliked.

Which grew, after awhile,
To remain unhurt,
Emotionally,
And Physically.

Looking in wrong places,
Not in their faces
I should’ve been looking,
Only for your face, Lord.

Now, no longer lacking liking,
Nor wanting others to like me,
But for them to like you and see you, Jesus
And what you do through me.

With Folded Hands – Love Aware 24

April 29, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

praying with folded hands

With folded hands, on bended knee,
I come to you with a thankful heart.
For saving me, for sustaining me,
For loving me when I foolishly depart.

I despise the times I’ve ignored your words,
And times I’ve used mine against thee.
I cast aside my prideful ways and return,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

My heart cries for things transpiring,
For people lost, and those refusing to see.
Your tender mercies, I receive,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

Protect me from such hatred, Lord,
Strengthen me for battles so I don’t flee.
Triumphant testimonies I declare,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

Victory, I shout and sing
With the promise of Jesus: eternity!
A gift not deserved, yet grace given,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

Desperate Cry – Love Aware 23

April 28, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

Young Boy Crying

Looking around me, troubles I hear,
Teach me, Lord, in how to pray.
People ask me, hearts full of fear,
Guide me Spirit, in what to say.

So much chaos, the world over,
With anger flaring from all sides.
Even brothers & sisters in Christ,
throwing out words none too wise.

Where do I start, God, while on my knees,
Praying for lands and peoples, too.
Make it better, so without a doubt:
We’d know the Healing is because of you!

Guide our leaders and protect them,
So their decisions would be for the good.
Send aid in deeds, supplies, and prayer,
Have mercy upon cities and neighborhoods.

Calm their hearts, remove their fears,
Separate enemies from each other’s view.
In times of destruction and despair,
Show me what to say, what to do.

Love Aware – Day 22: Humming From the Inside

April 27, 2015 by Mike Sansone Leave a Comment

hymnal

Lord, I’m thankful as you draw me near,
And I know internally of your enduring love,
It’s why I’m humming from the inside.

Your forgiving and merciful ways,
And how you either guard or clear my path,
Is what causes my humming from the inside.

Shortly after I awake in the early morning,
I wonder where did I get this tune in my head?
In my heart, humming from the inside.

Each day is a blessing, each turn of the tide,
Knowing you’ll direct me on proper paths,
Keeps me humming from the inside.

I’ll sing to you in worship,
And hum on occasion, too.
All the while, humming from the inside.

When I am troubled, or tempted to err,
I’m thankful for hymns and spiritual song,
Curing my heart, humming from the inside.

You know my heart, Oh Father God.
As Christ’s blood brings us together.
Even with a shout, humming from the inside.

It is well with my soul, in sweet hours of prayer,
Jesus paid it all, such amazing grace,
Compels constant humming from the inside.
